new cd

June 15, 2008
cstmbldr@earthlink.net

Carrie:
I had the wonderful opportunity to see you in our small, intimate concert series at the Beekley here in New Hartford , CT in the Fall.... truly a nite to remember. The new cd is fantastic. After 20+ plays, it still is as good as the 1st time thru . When is the next East Coast swing? I keep hoping to see some tour dates in New England again because I"ll be there for sure.

Mountains!

Hello from the middle of the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado! I'm spending the summer above tree line looking for...well, I'm not really certain. But I do know this is going to be a 'season of change...'

What can God never see?

May 30, 2008
micduence@ramireschat.com

Hi!
Without taking into account the issue of establishing a stone by God, which he won't be able to pick up, how do you think, may be something in this world, what can God never see?

DVD?

May 21, 2008
ginya@speakeasty.net

It was such a gift to watch you while you were performing in Hillsboro that I'd like to share the joy with my family.
I have the DVD Light of Change. Will you be making a all music DVD anytime soon?
They would make a blessed Christmas gift.
Bless you and your friends that make such meaningful lyrics and music.

Blessings on your ministry

May 08, 2008
pastor@Saintnicholaslutheran.org

Thanks for your most recent CD -- It's wonderful to see you continue to grow in power and craft. I wondered if you knew that your interpretation of Lazarus was a little like Kazantzakis' depiction of him in "The Last Temptation of Christ." You have a wonderful sense of what congregations are about from Regulars and Refugees. It sure seems that music can be a ministry -- All blessings on yours!

Thank you!

I'm in my late 70s and I've watched this country fall deeper and deeper into materialism. This year it seems the pendulum is getting a good push back to what life is really about. Thanks to you and to Barak Obama it's reaching many people in my life.Bless you!

Thanks for another great addition to my collection!

Hi Carrie,
Ordered The Geography of Light and it's now in my Carrie rotation! Heard "Leaves Don't Drop" at the Disciples "Mix in 06" and again at the IN Historical Society last summer--I think it's my new favorite. Hoping to catch you in July at St. Lukes UMC. Wishing you peace, Ginny Campbell

Geography of Light

April 22, 2008
katobyron@mac.com

Inspires and uplifts the spirit, "Geography of Light" epitomizes everything you've become and are becoming. "Geography" is a world-class benchmark album which delivers a near perfect balance and harmony of aural resonance between deep vocals and tingling acoustic instruments. You have achieved a masterful acoustic performance akin to one who practices living in the moment. Bravo!

Answer about Theil concert song

April 11, 2008

Hi David, I believe the song you are descibing is called "Stones in the River." It is a new song, and has not as been recorded. In the next few months I will be posting a few demos of unrecorded requested songs on this site. Thanks so much for your kind words. It was a fun concert at Thiel! -Carrie

Thank you for a wonderful concert. Your music is filled with warmth and soul. You played a song that had lyrics about dropping stones in the river and time will tell where they go. What is the name of that song? Thanks, David

A devotee of Mary Chapin Carpenter, I picked up The Geography of Light and was so touched that I went right back to the bookstore and bought five more copies to share with friends. Geodes, Where You Been and Leaves Don't Drop are my very favorites at the moment. Say amen, indeed.

Carrie as a feminine archetype

March 13, 2008
Hobopoet@aol.com

As a man afflicted/gifted with t he attributes of a man, I find a special message or theme in much of Carrier's music. It's the gentleness coupled with a remarkable strength that has nothing to do with overcoming that speaks so powerfully to me. I'll admit I'm still a bit of a wildman, a bit too competitive; but a few minutes listening to Carrie's music and I can find other contours in my spirit.

beyond words

March 13, 2008
lrbrain@comast.net

I listen to Geography of Light over and over again. I listen to find peace after a hard day at work. I listen to create serenity before I meet with groups of people. Listening to your lyrics is like putting on glasses for the first time--when ordinary things become clearer and richer. You have made my life fuller and kinder. Wow.

I am new to your talents ("accidently?" discovered your music while searching to find who was listening to Raising Sand). I am grateful for the guidance received and purchased three of your discs the moment I heard the samples on your website. I have never "practiced" any specific religion as I find my faith in music. In your music my faith reaches a new height. We are blessed by your talents.

You know sometimes something will be sitting right there and you don't recognize it for what it is? I have been listening to your music on KDHX for years, and even have one of your cds (Betty's Diner). I always enjoyed the "comfort" of your sweet music but didn't recognize the truth and beauty of the lyrics until I got to sit there and look up and really"get it." Amazing. Thank you. Tom

Carrie, I have just discovered the voice of an angel. I saw an article in AARP, and decided to go to the internet. Your song "Biscuits and Butter" made me laugh. It reminded me of my ex-husband. Guitar and Gear Questions

February 11, 2008

Hi Saskia, I play steel string Taylor 914C and 814C. I've played Taylors for years. I love them for thier sound, beauty & road reliability. I also play a high strung Laravee parlor guitar. I use Kaiser capos (full style & Short Cuts). I customize the Short Cut capos for my own tunings. You can hear both guitars and see how I use the custom capos in the interview sections of TGOL Album page

Also do you use a capo a lot, and what brand/type. Thanks Carrie.
