Dear Friends, I’m delighted and excited to have finished the new album,” The Geography of Light.   I’m looking forward to giving it wings and sending it out into the world after the turn of the year.  I’ll be speaking more in the coming months of the amazing musicians, artists and other talented folks who have worked on the project.  But briefly, the artistry of Hugh Syme, the musical talents of Krista Detor, David Weber, Jim Brock, Gary Walters, Keith Skooglund, Jeff Headback, Chris Wagoner and Mary Gaines have helped to create the finest album I think I’ve ever produced!  What a great feeling, and what amazing folks to work with!  I just returned from Alaska and once again so moved by the power of the Alaskan Wilderness. Yep, I saw a bear and whales!   I am constantly amazed by the wonders of this world, the unfolding of our diverse natural environment, and by the decency and kindness of strangers and friends I meet everywhere.   Mostly I just walk around feeling astonished and very grateful. I am grateful for a sense of continuity I feel in all these gloriously diverse environments, communities and individuals.  There is a spirit that vibrates through it all, faithful and generous.  Sometimes I can imagine a tree at the center of all things, and in it’s roots a song lies humming content and hopeful, connecting us one to another, sky to leaf to branch, branch to trunk, trunk to root, root to earth, earth to water, water to sky. - Carrie
